About the project Edit

The labfab de Rennes at the school of fine arts will be the centre of gravity for an emerging regional network in Brittany, France. It will connect citizens, students in creative and technical programs, and digital artists. It will also be directly connected to partners in Quebec City, Montreal, Ouagadougou, Dakar and Hué (Vietnam). All these french speaking places are taking parts in the growing community that covers the 5 continents, the fablab network.

In what ways is this project unique and creative? Edit

The labfab is a prototype that explores the various facets of a digital fabrication laboratory: education, local problem solving, democratic debate, research and development, international cooperation, and social connections

Free training for hundreds of citizens every year. Organize events open to thousands of people and provide Francophone documentation on improvable and replicable solutions using an alternative economic model (patent free).
